Launched in January 2025, the API Repair & Remanufacture Program introduces a dedicated licensing requirement for organizations performing restoration on API Monogrammed equipment.

If your organization holds or is applying for API Specification Q1 or ISO 9001 registration and your must scope includes API Standard 16AR, 2nd Edition. It is also required to obtain a dedicated license under this program to perform repair or remanufacturing activities.

To become licensed under the API Repair and Remanufacture Program, organizations must meet two critical requirements:

The program accommodates companies that perform repair and remanufacture work at their own facilities, as well as those operating in the field or at customer sites supporting flexibility while ensuring strict control over quality and compliance.

To maintain program integrity, all licensees are subject to annual audits by API. These audits validate ongoing conformance, enforce documentation traceability, and ensure that procedures remain aligned with evolving standards and operational best practices.
